President Trump Back Pedals on Russian Meddling Claims Causing Confusion

Confusion continues over comments made by President Trump about the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

After meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Finland, President Trump said he didn’t see why Russia would have meddled.

He later corrected himself saying he meant to say he didn’t see why Russia wouldn’t have meddled.

Top U.S. agencies say threats from Russia are still present.

The White House tried to clarify the president’s comments by saying he said “no” to answer more questions, not regarding a threat from Russia.

Many lawmakers say they are concerned the president isn’t taking stronger actions against Russia.
