Witnesses Testify in William Minore Trial

William Minore’s trial in Grand Traverse County has started.

It’s a case Northern Michigan’s News Leader has been following for three years in three counties.

Minore was facing federal charges for robbing two banks in Benzie County in 2015 and one in Leelanau County in 2016.

In April, the federal charges were dropped.

Shortly after, Minore was arrested in Grand Traverse County for having tasers in his van.

That weapon was found during the bank robbery investigations.

The jury trial for those charges started Wednesday morning.

So far two witnesses have taken the stand, including the Leelanau County deputy who searched Minore’s van and found the two stun guns.

Minore even took the stand.
