Cadillac Nonprofit Sets Up Food Pantry for Local Veterans

Veterans were out helping veterans in in Wexford County Tuesday by making sure they have something to eat.

The Vets Serving Vets organization came up with the idea to start a food pantry just for veterans.

They set up at the V.A. clinic in Haring Township on Tuesday with a fully stocked trailer of non-perishables.

They’re using the food pantry to gauge need in the community, and hope to expand.

“I think there’s a need. It’s the idea to get the word out to the people that really need it and help it. Eventually we are doing this as a promo type deal to let them know where we are at and what we are doing. Eventually we are going to probably open up a food pantry at the park we are building out on 41 Mile Road,” explained Stephen Birdwell, food pantry director.
