Anna and the new bike, helmet, and lock she picked out at Meijer’s Mount Pleasant location.

Meet Anna Mozurkewich, 12, of Mt. Pleasant, the fifth winner in the Bikes for Kids program happening this summer. Mozurkewich’s mom, Nicole, nominated her in the giveaway because of her kindness and willingness to help others. Her last school year was defined by the ways she made a positive impact on the lives of special needs students. At the Miles for Miracles event, Mozurkewich used her own money to buy a shirt for a girl, so she could participate in getting signatures on her shirt like the rest of her peers. She also plays games and engages in other activities with special needs students, like going to the skating rink – even giving out skating pointers and being a teacher herself. When asked about helping people and being there for others, Mozurkewich said “when they’re happy, that makes me happy.”
