Heavy Rains Cause More Flooding in Parts of U.P.
Heavy rains are causing more flooding in parts of the Upper Peninsula, still recovering from last month’s severe flooding.
At least three inches of rain fell in Keweenaw Peninsula Thursday closing several roads.
Many of those roads repaired from last month’s flooding were damaged again.
A man from Hubbell says he saw a river coming across M26 Thursday night.
That’s the same road crews were repairing in Houghton County.
Governor Snyder issued disaster declarations for Gogebic, Houghton, and Menominee counties.
Lieut. Gov. Brian Calley also called for a presidential disaster declaration.
