Papa Johns CEO Resigns After Racist Comment Made on Conference Call

Papa John’s CEO is resigning after reportedly making a racist comment during a conference call.

John Schnatter confirmed the incident took place in May.

He says it was all part of a role-playing exercise to prevent more controversy.

Schnatter came under fire earlier this year after he blamed the way the NFL handled the National Anthem protests for his company’s decrease in sales.

In a statement the company said “Papa John’s condemns racism and any insensitive language, no matter the situation or setting.”
