Hook & Hunting: Antlerless Deer Hunting Applications

In three days you can get ahead of the curve for the first antlerless deer hunting season coming up in September.

Antlerless deer applications are available starting July 15 and accepted until August 15.

You can do it at your local DNR office or online.

This year’s early season is September 22 to the 23

The late antlerless deer hunting season is December 17 through January 1.

Hunters ages 16 and under can buy the license over the counter without filling out an application, as long as they are with an adult.

We talked with DNR wildlife coordinator Katie Keen on why this license is important to hunters

“So our early antlerless season is really the first chance for folks to get out and deer hunt but it’s on private land only, so to get in on this first season of the hunt you just need to make sure you have that license to get out because it is only for antlerless deer,” Keen said.

Any leftover licenses that remain will go on sale September 10 at 10 a.m.
