Half of Parents Regularly Use Cell Phone with Children in Car, Studies Reveal

A nationwide study of more than 750 parents and caregivers reveals that about half use cell phones will drive with children in the vehicle.

Researchers found a third texted while one in seven use social media behind the wheel.

The findings suggest the distracted driver may also be prone to other risky behaviors, including not wearing a seat belt, driving under the influence of alcohol and even failing to properly restrain their young passengers.
