Jalana is just 15 years old, but she already knows what she wants to do with her life.
Become a lawyer so she can help other kids who are in the foster care program just like her.
This eleventh grader likes to rap, run track and field, dance and laugh a lot.
But if she could be adopted by a family of her very own, Jalana says she doesn’t care where she lives so long as she has someone who cares for her.
“If I had a family to adopt me, it doesn’t really matter where I live,” she says. “I just want someone to care for me and be there and not treat me like I’m nobody.”
Her goal is to become a child advocacy lawyer.
“I want to do that because I feel like a lot of lawyers nowadays don’t care for kids like they should,” she says. “So I want to step up for the kids, then I want to start pursuing my goals to be a lawyer.”
