Grant From MDOT Expected to Help Create Dozens of Jobs in Sault Ste. Marie

A $200,000 grant from the Michigan Department of Transportation is expected to help create a dozen new jobs in Sault Ste. Marie.

The Transportation Economic Development Fund Grant is expected to go toward the proposed Lake Superior State University Center for Freshwater Research and Education Facility.

The university says the development of the proposed facility will require the city to construct nearly 1,000 feet of new roadway, and to relocate the existing salmon run way.
