60 Miles Completed, Stand Up For Great Lakes Finishes Paddle of Lake Superior

Three Northern Michigan men made it all the way across Lake Superior from Canada to the U.S.

They reached the shores at Whitefish Point around 6 Wednesday morning.

Joe Lorenz, Jeff Guy and Kwin Morris started their journey from Sinclair Cove to Whitefish Point yesterday morning.

That’s a 60 mile trek across Lake Superior.

The 22 hour mission raised money for the Great Lakes Shipwreck Historical Society.

All three agreed the conditions couldn’t have been better.

“I think Lake Superior gave us a gift because it was like glass for a majority of the day,” Guy says. “We got into some tougher stuff at night and into some waves and they were coming from the side for a bit, but we couldn’t have asked for better weather the majority of the time.”

The 9&10 News team had a crew following the three paddlers for this unforgettable mission, and they are working on a documentary to bring you later this year.
