Gardening is something that doesn’t have to be a solo project—and it’s not when it comes to the Friendly Garden Club of Traverse City.

This club is for anyone interested in nature and horticulture, and makes a point to serve its community.

The club’s 36th Annual Garden Walk is one way it reaches out to the community, and the event can see up to 800 people in one day.

This year’s Garden Walk is on July 19 from noon to 7 p.m. at the Gardens of the Western Hills, whether there is rain or sunshine.

Sue Soderberg and Sarah Rosenbaum say they hope the new hours will allow people to attend after work.

Tickets are $10 if bought in advance or $12 day-of.

Children 16 and under get in free.

Tickets can be purchased at most garden centers in Traverse City, the TC Visitors Center, from any Friendly Garden Club member, or online at .
