Crawford Co. Deputies, MSP Investigating Homicide, No Arrests Made
“We have an active investigation regarding a homicide.”
A man was killed in Crawford County, and it’s an active investigation, but no arrests have been made.
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and state police are investigating a homicide that happened last week.
They are not giving many details, but we do know the victim is a man.
They say the investigation started last week when a man was reported missing near Frederic on Friday.
They say it turns out that man was killed days earlier.
They are not giving the identity of the man.
But the sheriff says evidence clearly points to a homicide.
Investigators are still looking for whoever did this, but say no one is in danger at this time.
“I’ve got 12 investigators working on this right now and we’re extremely busy. We’re following up on some leads. We’re getting close like I said. And we will bring this to an end shortly,” Kirk Wakefield, Crawford County sheriff said.
We’ve asked for a description of who police are looking for, but again they tell us details are limited due to the on-going investigation.
We will be digging deeper into this investigation, so stay with Northern Michigan’s News Leader for the very latest on this homicide case and the search for the man involved.
