19th Century Locomotive Brought Back to Life in Mason Co. Exhibit

A new exhibit in Mason County is bringing an old train back to life.

The historic White Pine Village in Ludington is giving the community a chance to see a 19th-century locomotive up and running again!

The Mason and Oceana Railroad exhibit hopes to entertain and educate the crowds.

This railroad ran from 1886 to 1909 and now it’s back, giving families a chance to hop aboard.

“This is just a tremendous exhibit and it’s so thrilling to see that big locomotive huge wheels and just imagine what the sounds and the smells were like back in the day,” said Rick Plummer, executive director of the Historical Society.

The exhibit opens to the public this weekend.
