Lt. Governor Brian Calley Walks in Cherry Royale Parade

Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley is running for governor, but Saturday he was walking in the Cherry Royale Parade.

He was in Traverse City for the final day of the National Cherry Festival, and he was waving and walking alongside his team in downtown Traverse City.

He says he’s excited about the economic impact the festival has on the whole Northern Michigan region.

Calley says that the national and international visitors visit because Traverse City is truly a special place.

“While this is the Traverse City cherry festival and it happens in Traverse City, the reach of the region is enormous,” said Calley. “The number of hotel rooms that are required, the number of towns you go out that are just booked solid…one of the remarkable things about this festival is that it’s a national festival.”
