Great Lakes Equestrian Festival Returns to Williamsburg

The Great Lakes Equestrian Festival is back in Williamsburg.

The six-week festival will feature jumpers, hunters and equitation riders. The competition brings thousands of horses from all over the world.

Last year, there were riders from 13 countries and 38 states, including Olympic equestrian riders and others who rank top in their sport.

“We’re fortunate this year to have really high caliber riders to compete for world ranking points in our facility,” said Cody Brown, director of marketing for the festival. “We have a couple of the top riders from the U.S.”

For the next four Sundays, jumpers will compete in Grand Prix tournaments for a top prize of $50,000. In August, elite international competitors will play for $100,000 and world ranking points.

There are riding competitions every day –  see the full schedule here.
