Getting outside for a workout can be great–if you know what exercises you want to do.
Munson Healthcare’s Exercise Specialist Ben Watson has some workouts you can do that focus on your legs.
Toe taps
Start standing and facing the bench.
Lift one leg and tap the bench with the toe then return to the ground.
Repeat on with the other leg.
Repeat 8 to 12 repetitions to start and add more as you progress.
To change difficulty
- Harder: Increase the speed.
Step Ups
Start standing and facing the bench.
Step up onto the bench.
Step down off of the bench.
Repeat 8 to 12 repetitions to start and add more as you progress.
To change difficulty
- Harder: Do not place second foot on the bench, instead do a high knee to balance.
