Federal Highway Admin. Puts Forth $2M for U.P. Road Repairs

The Federal Highway Administration announced it’s making $2 million available for road repairs in the Upper Peninsula after devastating flash floods.

It’s being considered a down payment for short-term repairs, while crews assess the damage.

We told you last week that MDOT estimates it will take nearly $30 million to repair all damaged roads.

In mid-June, heavy rains washed away roads, bridges and culverts and damaged dozens of building in Houghton, Menominee and Gogebic counties.
