What’s Trending Wednesday: Kid-Friendly Events at National Cherry Festival

National Cherry Festival is just two short days away!

For this week’s What’s Trending Wednesday we’re highlighting a few kid-friendly events for you to do with your young ones.

Saturday, June 30

Kick-off Cherry Festival with a bike ride. Join Norte Clubhouse for a balance bike race on La Plaza.

This is for children 5 and under.

Registration is from 9 to 9:45 and the rides go from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The event is free and only balance bikes are allowed on the course.

Or spend Saturday morning with Peter Rabbit and his three sisters, Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton Tail at the State Theater for a kid’s matinee show of Peter Rabbit.

The event is free and the movie starts at 10 a.m.

Sunday, July 1

It’s teddy bear tea time at the National Cherry Festival.

Bring your child and let them bring their favorite teddy bear and a blanket for a fun-filled afternoon in the park.

Kids can enjoy a story, make a craft and of course sip on tea.

The event runs from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. and is at the F&M Park at Railroad and Washington streets.

Friday, July 6

Bring your kids to show off their artistic ability with chalk.

Chalk is provided and the event is free and runs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Open Space Park.

Be sure to stay with 9&10 News throughout all of National Cherry Festival.

We will have crews working around the clock bringing you the latest on the summertime favorite event.
