Blue Angels Land in Traverse City

The Blue Angels flew to Traverse City ahead of their flight at the National Cherry Festival airshow on Saturday and Sunday.

All seven landed at Coast Guard Air Station Wednesday and their crew followed soon after.

They landed in unison to say hello again to the Cherry Capital.

Plane number seven was in Traverse City Tuesday, and one through six joined Wednesday.

Today’s landing event was followed by a warm welcome from National Cherry Festival officials.

“Sometimes, I wonder who is more excited when they get here, us or the Blue Angels,” said National Cherry Festival flight coordinator Wayne Moody.  “They’re all talking about it, Traverse City’s reputation precedes itself.”

You’ll get the chance to see the Blue Angels in action this Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. and again on Sunday.
