Coast Guard Rescues Man Who Fell Overboard in Lake Michigan

The U.S. Coast Guard says they rescued a person who fell into Lake Michigan Saturday.

A crew was called to a position just south of Manistee, two miles off shore.

There, they found two people on a boat holding onto a man in the water.

They said the man fell off of the boat while trying to net a fish.

The man had a life jacket on and a life ring when the Coast Guard arrived.

A swimmer was able to help the man climb into the boat.

He had been in the water for about 45 minutes, and was taken to the hospital to be treated for hypothermia.
