For 15 years Frankfort has been bringing families together through fishing.
The Take A Kid Fishing event starts this Friday and runs through Saturday at the Mineral Springs Park.
The event helps kids get into fishing.
They will get a free fishing pole, t-shirt, tackle box and lunch.
Frankfort Chamber of Commerce says it’s also a good family bonding time, while learning how to fish.
“All the children start learning about nature, they have a chance to be with their parents or an adult, to go out and enjoy fishing in our community. After all, we are the Great Lake state, and there’s fish in that lake and we want every kid to know about them,” Donna Phillips with the Frankford Chamber of Commerce said.
The event kicks off Friday night with a night crawler hunt, followed by a full day of fishing and fun on Saturday at 8 a.m.
