Wildfires Rapidly Spreading in Western States

Thousands of home and businesses are being threatened by several wildfires, including at least seven raging through Colorado.

Crews have been working around the clock battling the largest fire near Durango, Colorado.

That fire began June 1 and since then, more than 2,100 home have evacuated. It’s burned more than 27,000 acres and is only 15 percent contained.

West of Denver, near Ski Country, another 1,400 homes were evacuated.

In Utah, a fast moving fire destroyed multiple structures including 8 homes.

Fire crews say this is a rapid start to the fire season and it’s expected to intensify.

There are roughly 30 blazes burning across nine western states.
