Missaukee County Sheriff Named Sheriff of the Year

Missaukee County Sheriff Jim Bosscher is celebrating an achievement of a lifetime.

Bosscher was named sheriff of the year by the Michigan Sheriff’s Association.

The ceremony was this past weekend, and out of 83 sheriffs Bosscher received the award.

Last year it went to the sheriff in Kent County.

Bosscher says he is honored to have been chosen by peers.

“Very humbled. We do all of these things for the betterment of the profession for our offices and all of law enforcement and so it was a very nice award. There’s a lot of sheriffs. A lot of law enforcement equally deserving of this but very appreciative,” he said.

This is the second year the sheriff’s association awarded this honor, and they plan to continue the tradition.
