Ex-Personal Lawyer of President Trump Seeks New Legal Team
President Trump’s former personal lawyer Michael Cohen is facing pressure to share information related to the Russia investigation.
Cohen is reportedly getting ready to hire a new legal team, which is raising questions about whether he’s ready to cooperate with special counsel Robert Mueller.
He’s also facing scrutiny for alleged fraud in his business dealings.
FBI agents raided his office and home two months ago in search of hush money paid to adult film actress Stormy Daniels before the election.
The President’s current lawyer Rudy Giuliani says Cohen has not been cooperating with Mueller.
“He’s not cooperating. Nor do we care because the President did nothing wrong,” said Giuliani.
Last week President Trump was asked about pardoning Cohen to keep him from talking to Mueller.
The President said, “They haven’t been convicted of anything. There’s nothing to pardon.”
He also added that he has the right to pardon himself but would never do it because he hasn’t done anything wrong.
At this point, there are no indications that Cohen has discussed a plea deal in the fraud investigation and he has not been charged.
