A beautiful day on the golf course in Traverse City on Thursday as members of Veterans in Crisis raised money for a good cause.

The group held their first Golfing for Vets Outing and they reached their goal, raising $30,000,

More than 100 people hit the links at the Elmbrook Golf Course to raise awareness and money to ease the financial struggles local veterans face.

“I’m a former combat marine,” said Chairman David Mikowski. “I served in Vietnam and I’m now retired and I’m paying it forward by doing something that can allow us to give back to a community that’s in dire need of some assistance and some help.”

Veterans in Crisis hopes to make this an annual event.

They’ve already planned next year’s outing on Flag Day, June 14th, 2019.
