Michigan House Approves Bill to Legalize Online Gambling
A bill to legalize online gambling in Michigan has cleared the state House.
Lawmakers voted to pass the Lawful Internet Gaming Act.
This would regulate online versions of licensed casino games as well.
The Senate is expected to act on the bill in the fall after summer recess ends.
Michigan would join a wave of states exploring the online gambling industry.
Money from this would go towards the state’s transportation fund, school state aid and Detroit.
