Suspect in Custody After Shooting at Indiana Middle School

Another school shooting in the U.S., this time in Indiana.

Two people are hurt after a shooter opened fire in an Indiana middle school.

Police in Noblesville, about 25 miles northeast of Indianapolis, say a student suspect is now in custody.

One adult and one student were taken to local hospitals after the shooting. Another student was treated for an ankle fracture.

The school was put on lockdown, but students were eventually able to leave the school and be bussed out.

They were taken to a nearby high school, where parents are picking them up.

There have been 23 school shootings where someone in the United States was hurt or killed so far this year.

That’s an average of more than one shooting a week.
