Democrats Introduce Plan to Offer Full Scholarships to Qualifying Community College Students
Community college students could get full-tuition scholarships from the state under a plan by house Democrats.
State lawmakers announced the plan called the “Hired Opportunity Act” Monday in Lansing.
The money would to go recent high school graduates who enroll at a community college fulltime.
They have to keep a 2.0 GPA and participate in mentorship and community service programs.
Older adults would be placed in a career training program.
Republicans are likely to oppose the plan.
