2 Arrested After Car, Foot Chase in Leelanau County
A Leelanau County police chase ended up setting a small fire in a field, and three people potentially facing charges.
Deputies say they tried to pull over a car Friday afternoon at which point a man, woman and child got out.
The vehicle then sped off.
And after a chase reaching speeds of more than 100 miles per hour, deputies say the Chevy veered off the road, into a pasture and rammed through a metal gate before stopping.
Three people got out and ran into a swamp.
Two were arrested there.
Deputies identified the third person and are requesting charges.
The Chevy even started a small grass fire that was put out by a deputy.
The others are facing charges for running from police and obstructing justice.
