Michigan State University Expecting Largest Freshman Class in School History

The largest university in Michigan is set to have its largest freshman class ever next school year.

Michigan State University says they’re expecting about 8,400 students to be enrolled for the 2018-19 school year.

There will also be more in-state students, with more than three quarters of the class coming from Michigan.

That’s compared to an estimated 70 percent of the 2017-18 freshman class coming from in-state.

However, international student applications fell by 31 percent.

The struggles with attracting more students from across the globe may be due to fallout from the sex abuse scandal involving the school’s former sports doctor, Larry Nassar.
