Medical Marijuana Laws in Michigan Now Cover CBD Oil, A Marijuana Extract

The state says Michigan’s market for oil-based products known as CBD oil will now be covered under medical marijuana laws.

The Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs issued its first classification for the oil Thursday.

It’s derived from marijuana or hemp plants.

LARA says any extracts of the marijuana plant must be done under the medical marijuana laws.

Advocates say CBD oil say can help people with seizures and doesn’t give users the same high that’s associated with marijuana.
