Wings of Wonder Releases Bald Eagle After Rehabilitation

A bald eagle was released back into the wild just one month after it looked like he would not make it.

Wings of Wonder rescued the bald eagle on Easter Sunday after it was found trapped in netting in freezing water.

The netting became frozen to the bird’s body.

After several weeks of rehabilitation the eagle was ready to be released back into the wild.

Wings of Wonder did the release at Mesick High School which they say was just miles from where the eagle was found.

“It’s a really heartwarming feeling to remember what he looked like and my fear that he’s not going to make it or we’re going to have to euthanize him, he’ll just toes will start falling off. I was glad to see him go,” founder Rebecca Lessard said.

The bald eagle also joined two turkey vultures soaring in the skies following his release.
