Officials Need Help Finding Mecosta Co. Bald Eagle Poacher

The DNR is still trying to find out who killed an adult bald eagle in March in Mecosta County.

There is now a $400 reward to help catch the person who did it.

DNR officers found an eagle in a tree in Grant Township back on March 1.

They say the eagle had suffered a traumatic injury.

A couple of Mecosta County sportsmen have put together a reward of $400 to help find the person who killed the bald eagle.

Anyone who kills a bald eagle could spend up to 90 days in jail and be forced to pay up to $2,500 in fines.

If you have any information that could help the DNR’s investigation, call or text the report all poaching hotline at 1-800-292-7800.
