Gov. Snyder Announces Results of Infrastructure Pilot Program

Governor Rick Snyder announced the results of an infrastructure pilot program aiming to implement a statewide system to better manage things like Michigan’s roads, bridges, water, sewers and waste disposal pipelines.

It comes after Snyder’s 2016 State of the State Address, during which he announced he would assemble a 21st Century Infrastructure Commission.

The commission was then tasked with undertaking this pilot program to prepare recommendations as to how organizations that govern our state’s aging infrastructure can better work together on modernizations and improvements.

Their recommendations include establishing a permanent Michigan infrastructure council to oversee all monitoring of state infrastructures, as well as all planned maintenance.
