UPDATE: Gunman In Custody After More Than 5 Hour Standoff

Just in to the 9&10 Newsroom, a gunman is in custody after five hour standoff in Mio.


A barricaded gunman situation in Oscoda County that is now entering its fifth hour.

Sources tell us the gunman has been barricaded inside a Mio pharmacy since just after noon Tuesday.

We’re told it all started when a gunman entered the Pioneer Family Pharmacy on Morenci Avenue.

It put Mio AuSable schools on lockdown for several hours.

Students were dismissed at 3 p.m.

A negotiator is currently on scene, trying to get the gunman to peacefully surrender.

There are no hostages, just the gunman.
