French President Meeting with President Trump Focuses on Tariffs, Iran Nuclear Deal
The president of France will be in Washington D.C. Monday, for his first official trip to the U.S. since President Trump took office.
The meeting between Emmanuel Macron and President Trump is expected to include talks on everything from recent trade tariffs to the Iran nuclear deal, which President Trump has been threatening to withdraw from, even though the French president argues it has real security advantages
When it comes to next month’s trade deadline, Macron is warning President Trump not to levy tariffs on France and other European countries.
Later this week the president is also expect to meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel at the White House.
