White House Homeland Security Advisor Resigning

The White House Homeland Security adviser is resigning.

The White House released a statement Tuesday saying Thomas Bossert will be leaving his post.

Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders says the president is “grateful for Tom’s commitment to the safety and security of our great county.”

Bossert was a point person in the White House on protecting the nation from terror and cyber threats.

He was also the person behind last year’s hurricane response.

This comes one day after new National Security Adviser John Bolton began his tenure.
