Big Rapids Community Rallies For FSU Bulldogs After National Championship Victory

It was the victory that hundreds of fans in Big Rapids were hoping for.

The Bulldogs will be coming home tomorrow as national champions.

Dozens of Ferris State University Bulldog fans filled Buffalo Wild Wings from start to finish of the NCAA Division II national title game.

They did not leave disappointed.

The Bulldog watch party, which included FSU professors, parents, friends and more, brought the game to those who couldn’t make the hike to South Dakota.

When the buzzer rang with a final score of 71-to-69, some even shed tears.

FSU assistant athletic director Sara Higley was among them.

“It’s great for the university,” Higley says. “It’s great for everyone just to be out here and we’re in the national championship game. It’s our first team national championship that we can win so it’s just an exciting time to be a Bulldog.”
