Upper Peninsula Bus Driver Charged With Making False Report

We have an update on a story we first told you about in February.

That’s when we reported a school bus was shot at in Chippewa County.

Now the bus driver is being charged in the investigation.

State police say Thomas Brontrager first told them that an Ojibwe Charter School bus was shot at while on the road in Chippewa County.

Through the investigation, state police say it turns out the bus was actually shot at while in the schools parking lot.

Bontrager is now charged with making a false report and lying to police.

It’s still not clear who shot at the bus.
