Traverse City Bar Filled With Green, Business For St. Patrick’s Day Run
For many, the Traverse City Leapin’ Leprechaun 5K run is just the beginning to the St. Patrick’s Day celebration.
The staff at Kilkenny’s Irish Public House down the street from the finish line say they prepare for this day for months, as their name suggests.
Many tables are reserved and all hands are ready to serve.
The staff says it’s one of their busiest days of the year.
“It’s like our Irish Christmas,” says James Tulgetske, supervisor. “Everyone comes out and everyone is here all day.”
“Twenty times busier, 100 times busier,” says Allison Correia, assistant general manager. “It’s the day we wait for all year.”
Kilkenny’s was also the starting point for Traverse City’s 40th annual St. Patrick’s Day parade earlier Saturday afternoon.
