Mesick Consolidated Schools Participates In School Walk Up

While many schools participated in the school walk out, other schools did something called a “school walk up.”

Mesick Consolidated Schools was one of those schools participating in the walk up.

Instead of the walk out they encouraged students to walk up to other students sitting alone at lunch or someone that is quieter and say hi.

The school also encouraged students to “walk up” to teachers and other students and just say thank you.

“There’s so much bullying that goes on in school and most kids can feel like they are left out and if people walk up and include them in things, maybe they will be more open and positive about things and feel like they fit in,” says Shaelyn Teachout, student.

They also participated in a moment of silence to honor those impacted by school violence nationwide.
