Hook & Hunting: Hunter Safety Classes

If you’re interested in learning to hunt, now is the time to take the hunter safety course.

The Michigan DNR is providing its hunter safety course to anyone born after Jan. 1, 1960.

The course provides knowledge in handling a firearm, laws and ethics of hunting and one day of hands on experience.

Classes are provided online and in the classroom.

“Hunters safety is important because it reduces the incidents of hunting accidents. We really want to promote our sports out there. Sometimes, when you don’t know about something, it’s intimidating, and these courses will really give you the confidence and the knowledge you need to really get out there and enjoy our outdoor sports and activities,” said Michigan Conservation Officer Angela Greenway.
