Fallen Officer in Indiana Saves Life Through Organ Donation
An Indiana community is grieving the loss of a fallen officer, while celebrating the lives he saved by donating his organs.
Deputy Jacob Pickett was shot in the head on Friday while helping with an arrest about 20 miles outside of Indianapolis.
He was kept on life support through the weekend to donate his organs.
His heart was reportedly transplanted to a patient at the same hospital.
Officers walked alongside with their hands on the hearse as it left the hospital. Three men have been arrested, including the man who shot Deputy Pickett.
Pickett was 34 years old and the father of two young children.
