Snyder Signs Legislation Expanding Craft Beer Access

Michigan’s craft brewing industry is continuing to grow after Governor Rick Snyder signed legislation to expand the availability of growlers for takeout purchases.

The bill, signed Wednesday, revises the definition of an ‘eligible merchant’ for legally selling and filling growlers, allowing consumers to leave the licensed premises with beer.

Governor Snyder says it’s a “great perk for beer retailers and craft beer fans statewide.”

With Michigan’s booming craft beer industry, the use of growlers is a popular way for beer drinkers to take home craft brews from their favorite locations.
