Kicking Off National Reading Month At Traverse Library
Thursday is the first day in the month of March — which also means it’s National Reading Month.
To celebrate — we are asking local librarian what their favorite books are.
Teen service coordinator at the Traverse Area District Public Library, Linda, picked one of every genre because she could not pick just one.
Her favorite book of 2017, however, was “The Hate You Give. ”
She summarized it as a 16-year-old girl who was in the car with a friend from home when they were stopped by the cops and he was killed, so it’s about the police shooting and his response to it.
“It was one of those books you kept thinking about after you read it it just didn’t leave you for months,” she said.
