Sault Area High School Principal Set to Return to School

An Upper Peninsula high school principal, now on paid administrative leave, is set to return back to school.

Sault Area High School Principal Carl McCready was placed on non-disciplinary, paid administrative leave last week.

The district said they were investigating high school operations following multiple lockdowns at the school.

Superintendent Dr. Tim Hall said, “These situations are always difficult. I have confidence in Mr. McCready and believe he will be an even better administrator going forward. He cares about his students and the building and is excited to return to work.”

Carl McCready said, “As a veteran administrator, I am fully aware there are procedures for investigation of any threat against the schools. As with every situation I handle, I have reflected on the outcome of this situation and recognize there are procedures in place that I should have followed more thoroughly. I very much look forward to returning to the building and students that I love.”

The suspension is lifted but because of prior commitments, McCready won’t return to work until Monday.
