Sips, Soups And Shoes To Benefit Bay Area Recycling For Charities

It was a beautiful day in Traverse City on Saturday as many people were out enjoying some “Sips, Soups and Shoes” all for a good cause.

After a major fire in January, Bay Area Recycling for Charities lost their recycling facility in Manistee County but the community has come together to help  raise money.

“Sips, Soups and Shoes” went on all Saturday afternoon with 100 percent of the proceeds going to BARC.

Earthen Ales, S2S Sugar 2 Salt, Red Spire Brunch House and Left Foot Charley all participated today with a beer, wine and soup pairing.

This fundraiser was just one of the many events put on by community members, helping BARC raise over $22,000 in just over a month.

“It’s great to know that the community is out there supporting Bay Area Recycling and they are there to help us emotionally through this in a way and financially,” said founder of BARC, Andrew Gale. “There’s been so much great outpouring from the community whether it’s through an email or a letter or donation.”
