Mount Pleasant Parks and Rec Director Wins Park Leadership Award

The director of Mount Pleasant Parks and Recreation won an award, the highest individual honor you can get from Michigan’s Recreation and Park Association.

Chris Bundy is the recipient of the 2018 Park Resource Leadership Award.

The association bases the accomplishment on maintenance practice, equipment management, and resource development. All factors the organization says Mount Pleasant does very well.

Bundy says he’s lucky to work in a place that values parks so highly.

“I’ve been fortunate in my career to work here for the city of Mount Pleasant, in a community where they really value their parks and they really use their parks a lot. It’s been a good opportunity. I’m not done yet,” said Bundy.

Bundy was instrumental in the construction of Timber Town, Island Park as well as access to Adventure Trail and spearheading the Green Maintenance bike initiative.
