Egyptian Dogs Looking for a Permanent Home in Northern Michigan

Five dogs came all the way from Africa to Northern Michigan to find their permanent home.

Oscar, a 10 month-old Baladi, grew up as a street dog in Egypt before making his way to the Charlevoix Area Humane Society.

Oscar and his four friends were going to be killed but were saved by an Egyptian woman, who got them care and reached out to a shelter in Texas.

That shelter was overwhelmed after the hurricane, so the furry friends made their way up north.

“He’s young he’s really smart, very personable and very loving dog, Baladis are known to be very loyal to their owners, once they bond with you, you’re bonded for life,” Charlevoix Area Humane Society Executive Director Scott MacKenzie, said.
